Call for Presenters, Exhibitors and Sponsors - Share Your Story at Gathering Wisdom for a Shared Journey VII

3/6/2015

Deadline for Presentation and Tradeshow Applications is March 13, 2015

Coast Salish Territory (Vancouver, BC) – The date is fast approaching for the seventh annual First Nations Health and Wellness forum – Gathering Wisdom for a Shared Journey – and one week left for the open call for presentations and tradeshow exhibitors. Taking place on Coast Salish Territory at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver hotel May 6-7, 2015, Gathering Wisdom attracts Chiefs, health leaders, front-line health workers, federal and provincial partners, academics, and key decision-makers in First Nations health within BC and across the country.

The First Nations Health Authority warmly invites First Nations across Canada to join us at a unique annual forum to focus on our health issues and solutions. This year's forum will also celebrate the successful health and wellness journey taken by First Nations in British Columbia and the transfer of health services from Health Canada to BC First Nations. Now in its seventh year of operation, Gathering Wisdom is the largest First Nations health conference in BC and the only one of its kind in Canada, attracting over 850 delegates from across British Columbia, Canada and internationally.

Attendee's, presenters, and exhibitors will have the opportunity to share their story with an audience that includes delegates and participants from over 200 BC First Nations communities, and keynote speakers such as Dr. Evan Adams, Alaska's South Central Foundation CEO Dr. Katherine Gottleib, Dr. Art Hister, Grand Chief Doug Kelly, and many more. Breakout sessions are 60 minutes in length and follow three learning paths: Excellence in Community Health Governance; Innovative Health Service Programming; and Health through Wellness.

Share your experiences in health administration and management, health program and service delivery, health promotion and innovation, and other best or wise practices relevant to First Nations and Aboriginal health. The Gathering Wisdom tradeshow provides an opportunity for small businesses, non-profit organizations, artisans, and business partners to showcase their work and interact face-to-face with attendees of the forum. Registration for the event is officially open and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
