Since 2013, FNHA has been working closely with the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and their First Nations Panorama Implementation (FNPIP) team of consultants to bring Panorama to health service providers that support First Nations communities and clients.  FNHA recognizes this program as an essential resource for community public health programs, and the importance of leading this work through a First Nations lens and the FNHA vision, directives and values.

FNHA's contract with BCCDC for the FNPIP team ended on Dec 31, 2017. To make the Panorama program FNHA's own, and to bring this service closer to home for First Nations, FNHA completed the full transition to its very own in-house Panorama team on  January 1, 2018. FNHA raises its hands to BCCDC's FNPIP team — thank you for your dedication and hard work since 2013.

A dedicated Panorama team builds capacity within FNHA

FNHA's Panorama team has thoroughly prepared to ensure a seamless transition for users. They worked in tandem with the FNPIP team, met new and existing users, and ensured all knowledge was preserved and transferred. The two teams overlapped for the second half of 2017 to build capacity with FNHA.  Two current members of the FNHA Panorama team have been working with the FNPIP team for over five years.

Panorama users will not experience a disruption in service

Services and support for users remains unchanged.

Existing Panorama users already know about the transition

In November 2017 all Panorama users received a detailed email explaining the upcoming transition, FNHA's commitment to provide ongoing support, and a roster of FNHA team members.

Panorama is an integrated, electronic public health record

Panorama supports the management of communicable diseases, outbreaks, and immunizations in First Nations communities.  The use of Panorama provides access to timely and accurate information which contributes to improved health outcomes for First Nation community members.
