Q: What do you do on any given day?

Overseeing Corporate Travel, Event Coordination and Reception brings varying priorities each day that keep me on my toes! I typically support my team to centrally coordinate events hosted by the FNHA. I provide daily guidance to travel-related requests from FNHA clients, including arranging travel for employees new to FNHA travel processes and guidance with navigating corporate policies to ensure compliance. A large part of my role consists of working closely with other corporate teams to seek improvements to training materials, vendor/agency services, travel booking systems and procurement processes. I also supervise Park Royal Reception and support staff to provide a quality first impression of FNHA.

Q: What is one of the best parts of your job?

I genuinely enjoy collaborating with colleagues across departments. Whether it be through event planning or working together on continuous efforts to improve corporate processes for the organization, I appreciate different perspectives, learning from others, and simply knowing there is a network of people willing and highly capable to resolve whatever challenge is thrown our way.

Q: What do you like best about working at the FNHA?

I am grateful knowing that what I contribute, albeit in a small and indirect way, impacts a greater purpose. I truly appreciate everyone here who shares the same vision of focusing on why we do what we do; this work is bigger than any one individual, but as a cohesive group we are already achieving so much! It is an invaluable opportunity to work for an organization that directly serves my community and loved ones back home.

Q: What would happen if no one performed your job?

As a central service, we are here to alleviate the demand on departments working directly for and with communities so they can focus their energies on that important work, and to simplify systems and procedures they access in order to conduct their job duties. Without our team, there would be an increased burden on administrative supports and potential inefficient use of staff time and effort cross-departmentally in how travel, events and corporate procedures are rolled out.
