The Provincial Health Officer (PHO) recently announced that all BC health care employees working at patient locations are required to receive full vaccination against COVID-19 by Tuesday, Oct. 26. ​With this in mind, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is now reviewing its operational standards to ensure compliance with this pending order.

As such, we are revising our operational standards to require that all staff, contractors and volunteers working in community facing roles are fully vaccinated effective Oct. 26, and that other staff must report their vaccination status by Friday, Oct.​ 1.

Mandatory reporting of vaccination status now applies to all FNHA employees, contractors and volunteers. FNHA staff, contractors, and volunteers not fully immunized against COVID-19 should not visit First Nations communities until at least seven days post-receipt of a full vaccine series and adhere to all existing public health and First Nations community requirements and policies

The health and wellness of BC First Nations is our first priority. FNHA staff and First Nations people are encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones, younger children and other vulnerable people unable to receive a vaccination at this time.
