Our Corporate Services team, with support from a number of other teams, have been spending their days at the FNHA Sinclair office receiving, sorting, and redistributing deliveries of personal protective equipment (PPE) to regional FNHA offices.
To date Corporate Services has shipped 150,000 pieces of PPE to our regional offices in Prince George, Oyster Bay, Kamloops, West Vancouver and Chilliwack, where regional team members redistribute to first responders and health care professionals in community.
“The teams have willingly taken on this new and unfamiliar role while continuing many of their regular duties, says Chris John, Manager, Accommodation & Fleet, Corporate Services. “While many people are either working from home or temporarily not working, this group of individuals has been on site most days, working long hours to make sure our First Nations communities receive the PPE required to ensure their safety and minimize the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.”
The items are supplied by the Canadian Federal government, Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) and include some donations from local business such as retailer, Lush Cosmetics. Face shields, masks, goggles, gowns, saline, COVID-19 test kits, and sanitizing cleansers are all handled with care. The teams are practicing physical distancing and wearing gloves while sorting and packing. FNHA is committed to safety in the workplace during COVID-19.
