What Do They Do?: Jean Allbeury

This week we profile Jean AllbeuryeHealth Planner with IIMS. Jean is Ojibway from Lac Seul, Ontario. Jean has worked in the health field for the last 9 ½ years and worked for the various organizations that eventually became the FNHA.

What do you do on any given day?
EHealth is a way to expand on how health services are improved and provided to some communities through the use of technology.

As part of the Innovation and Information Management Systems Team, we are currently involved in projects such as Tele-health, Panorama, Electronic Medical Records and Community Electronic Records Management, Health Connectivity and Identity Management. I support the planning, coordinating and administration of eHealth initiatives, including training, meeting and event planning.

What is the best part of your job?
I work with the best team. They are hardworking, smart, fun and are just, downright, a brilliant group of people.

What is the most unique aspect of your job?
I love the fact that we are incorporating culture into our workplace, into our meetings, into the work we do for community. As an example, our team will pick and gather sage so that it can be prepared and presented to Community as a gift when we arrive to work with them on one of the projects. Having Leonard George serve as the Elder Advisor for FNHA and to be able to include other Elders in our meetings is unique.
