COVID-19 Health and Safety Reminder for Providers

9/23/2020

As Fall begins, the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is reminding providers to follow all necessary safety procedures to ensure that First Nations clients in BC are protected against COVID-19.

BC is in Phase Three of its Restart Plan and we are all adjusting to a 'new normal'. The number of active COVID-19 cases in BC is rising, and the province is preparing to move into influenza (flu) season.

It is important that all health care providers continue to follow health and safety guidelines recommended by their professional bodies to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Providers should also familiarize themselves with WorkSafe BC protocols for health professionals.

Please note that additional charges to clients for use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or non-medical masks during appointments will not be covered by FNHA Health Benefits. If you have questions about Health Benefits coverage, please call 1-855-550-5454.
