Sydney, Australia (on Cadigal country) – First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) announced today its intention to host the 9th Annual Healing our Spirit Worldwide conference in Vancouver on the Coast Salish territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleilwaututh Nations in 2022.

BC First Nations delegates performed three traditional songs as part of closing ceremony at Healing Our Spirit Worldwide – The Eighth Gathering . In a ceremony witnessed by Indigenous delegates from around the world, FNHA Board Chair Colleen Erickson expressed the FNHA’s interest and intent to bring Healing our Spirit to B.C.

The international Healing Our Spirit Worldwide Gathering brings together Indigenous peoples every four years to celebrate and share the healing power of traditional Indigenous knowledge and cultures. The first Healing Our Spirit Worldwide gathering was held in Canada in 1986 and the event was last held in Canada in 2006 in the city of Edmonton.
