WHAT: The Northwest First Nations Youth Wellness Gathering

WHO: FNHA is hosting youth between 13-24 years old (up  to 4 youth + 2 chaperones per Northwest community)

WHENFeb. 22, 2017

WHERE: Smithers at the Dze L K'ant Friendship Centre

TIME: 8:30AM-4:30PM (with dinner to follow 6:00-9:30PM)

THEME: Ancient Cultures, Modern Wellness

A day-long facilitated session will explore the Northern regional priorities of:

Primary Care
Mental Wellness & Substance Use
Traditional Wellness

Share your thoughts with those attending the sub-regional caucus sessions. Ideas and suggestions you come up with will also be used to determine the events and speakers for a health career conference for First Nations youth later in 2017.

The session will coincide with the Sub-Regional Caucus in Smithers and is day-long facilitated event to engage youth and seek and listen to their input on our three pillars of wellness. Attendees will also be asked for input about an upcoming Health Career event. Youth are being asked to make a presentation to the participants at the sub-regional caucus after dinner the evening on February 22, 2017, at the Prestige Hudson’s Bay Lodge. Travel subsidies are available for youth and chaperones. If you are interested participating in this Youth Gathering please contact your Community Health Director/Lead to support your registration and attendance at this Youth Gathering. Please contact Lori Devereux prior to registering to confirm the amount for your community. Forms will be distributed at the gathering for reimbursement.

Travel subsidies are available for up to four (4) youth and two (2) chaperones per community. Youth ages: 13-24
