The Government of Canada launched the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to help Canadians with the cost of accessing dental care and contribute to the overall improvement of oral health. For information about what the CDCP covers and how to apply, visit the Government of Canada CDCP Page.

Does the CDCP effect my First Nations Health Benefits (FNHB) Dental Benefit Plan?

  • The CDCP will not replace your FNHB Dental Benefit Plan.
  • Your FNHB Dental Benefits Plan provides comprehensive coverage. You can learn more about your FNHB Dental Plan at the link here or by calling First Nations Health Benefits and Services at 1-855-550-5454.
  • Some FNHA Clients may be eligible for CDCP coverage if they meet the specific CDCP eligibility criteria.
  • Any FNHA Clients enrolled in CDCP will continue to access coverage for eligible items and services through the FNHA Dental Benefit Plan first.
