Connectivity

In BC, more First Nations communities are being connected to reliable high-speed internet connections every year. FNHA has partnered with the Pathways to Technology project team, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Technology, Innovation and Citizens' Services to support better connectivity and improve access to health and other services.

What is Connectivity?

Connectivity is how connected a community is to the internet. Reliable internet connections may be limited in some rural and remote communities.  The lack of connectivity is a problem faced by many BC First Nations.

Why is this important?

Connectivity can affect health and wellness because it improves access to services that rely on the internet. Connectivity provides access to health, government and private services.

What to Expect in the Future?

FNHA is working with partners to create a First Nations Health network that could potentially link to every First Nations community in BC.
