The FNHA is pleased to announce the newest member of the family in the selection of Curt Walker as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The creation of a Chief Administration Office is the result of a post-transfer organizational review.
The Chief Administration Office will support in consolidating FNHA corporate services and will be home to all corporate, business, financial and technology-related programs. The CAO will ensure that these programs and services meet the highest operational standard and are delivered in an integrated and efficient manner.
"The FNHA is a dynamic, strategic and progressive organization, an organization which supports creativity and innovation. It is built on good governance and has a clear, strong mandate," said Walker. "The leadership group is absolutely widely respected and highly regarded. This is a high caliber team and I'm honoured to work with such progressive, skilled and forward thinking leaders."
Curt joins the FNHA following a 4-year term as CAO for Lil'wat Nation. He is a strategic, transformative and enthusiastic senior leader with a long and successful background in business management and finance. At Lil'wat Curt led a strong senior management team and worked closely with FNHA to deliver health programs and services. His experience in financial and organizational strategic planning has fostered a culture of support for new ideas, innovation and collaboration.
"I see the CAO role as an amazing opportunity. The ability to have an impact – at a team level, with our current and future leaders, and with the communities that we serve," said Walker. "I have been part of the positive impact that the FNHA has had at a community level in Lil'wat, and it is exciting to see the real influence this organization has."
Curt holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. He is also a Certified Management Accountant and was recently awarded a fellowship by the Canadian Society of Management Accountants for his contributions to society and the advancement of professional management accounting.
The FNHA is excited to welcome Curt to the Wolf Clan and look forward to his contributions supporting the transformative journey within First Nations health in BC.
