On October 14, we proudly celebrate Allied Health Professionals Day, recognizing and honouring the diverse and essential contributions of allied health professionals within FNHA and those serving First Nations communities in BC.

The allied health sector in BC includes more than 70 distinct professional disciplines. These practitioners deliver a broad spectrum of services—spanning prevention, diagnostics, therapeutic interventions, technical expertise, and clinical support—across all stages of life and throughout the continuum of care.

Allied health professionals play an integral role in delivering reliable, high-quality, and culturally safe care to First Nations individuals, families and communities. Whether delivering direct care, advancing knowledge through education and research, or guiding others through leadership, allied health professionals make a lasting impact. Their work promotes health equity, strengthens wholistic approaches to wellness, uplifts communities and plays a vital role in improving the health and well-being of those they serve.

At FNHA, our allied health team includes a wide range of disciplines, each bringing unique expertise and a deep commitment to the people we serve. We raise our hands in gratitude to all allied health professionals—within FNHA and across our community networks—for your dedication, compassion and excellence.

This year, the provincial Allied Health Policy Secretariat at the Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched the Allied Health Professionals Day Recognition Awards to celebrate outstanding contributions across the sector. All nominees will be recognized by Lorrie Cramb, Provincial Chief Allied Health Officer at MOH.

Let's take this opportunity to uplift and honour the incredible work of our allied health colleagues! If you're an allied health professional working at FNHA or supporting First Nations communities, thank you.

We invite you to connect with the Allied Health team to learn more about how we support your practice and professional growth at Allied.Health@fnha.ca.
