Join us for a special online knowledge-sharing circle hosted by the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) research teams working in toxic drug response. This is an opportunity to come together, share knowledge, and learn how FNHA and First Nations communities are supporting harm reduction and our relatives who use substances.
We'll begin by highlighting the Indigenizing Harm Reduction Study, a multi‑phase, Nation‑led and community‑driven effort to create a wholistic harm reduction framework that reflects the strengths, needs, and voices of First Nations communities across BC.
You'll hear insights from Phase I of the project, including wise practices, existing gaps in services, and community‑led solutions. We'll also discuss next steps in Phase II, currently being led by First Nations across BC, as we continue building this work together.
Finally, we'll share findings from the Provincial Prescribed Safer Supply Evaluation and Peer Model of Support for Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT). This research explores how clinical approaches, like prescribed safer supply and OAT, can support First Nations people on their healing journeys and improve access in communities.
