FNHA supports a broad-spectrum for health and wellness programs and services. We know that First Nations-led harm reduction efforts, centered in culture and teachings, saves lives. Harm reduction keeps people alive, connected, and supported which creates more opportunities for healing, wellness, and recovery which may look different for each person. By maintaining our cultural responsibilities and relationships and by working to hold one another up, First Nations people can gain strength and healing in their journey with substance use. It is important to meet people where they are in their relationship with substances, respecting their self-determination while offering harm reduction supports and care.
