Interior Regional Board Appointee

The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is currently recruiting an Interior Regional Appointee board member. The FNHA provides health and wellness programs and services to First Nations province-wide. The nine-member Board of Directors collectively works for all BC First Nations, regardless of residence. The Board is structured in a manner to make space for regional experience and perspectives.

Qualified First Nations individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.

The key governance functions of the FNHA Board of Directors include:

 ​Approve the Society's strategic vision;

 Prepare a multi-year health plan;

 Approve and monitor the Society's financial/corporate and operational plans;

 Set and maintain organization and operational (health) performance goals for the Society;

 Provide for an objective evaluation of the performance of Board of Directors and for merit-based evaluation of the FNHA CEO; and

 ​Monitor the effectiveness of the Society's governance practices.

The following competencies would complement the Board's broad range of skills and experiences.

  1. Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure;
  2. Demonstrated experience in construction and project management within the public sector in BC;
  3. Extensive and proven experience in Labour Relations; and/or
  4. Clinical Expertise

Must complete a criminal record check, and must be a resident of British Columbia.

Regional applicants will be shortlisted and nominated by the Interior Screening Committee to the FNHA members who will interview the nominations.
