This Mother's Day, we invite you to celebrate the First Nations mothers and mother figures who shape our lives, families, and communities.
First Nations matriarchs are keepers of culture and language, protectors of lands and resources, and experienced harvesters and hunters. They raise families, lead by example, and keep communities strong and resilient. Their love, strength and knowledge guide us each day. This is why we want to honour and celebrate the First Nations mothers and mother figures across BC.
How to enter
Send an email to CMO.office@fnha.ca with “Mother's Day Contest" in the subject line by Sunday, April 26. In your message, tell us about a special First Nations mother/figure living in BC whom you want to honour and celebrate. She could be your mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, or another woman you admire. Please attach a photo of her as well and be sure to let us know which Nation she is from.
Prizes
Four entries will be selected. Each winner will receive a $50 VISA gift card to treat your mother or mother figure, perhaps with flowers or to a special lunch.
We look forward to hearing your stories – and don't worry about your writing. We're happy to help polish your entry before it is published on our social media. What matters most is speaking from the heart and sharing what makes your mother or mother figure so special!
