The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is proud to announce the winners of the HPV Cancer Care Art Contest, intended to raise awareness about the HPV vaccine and its role in protecting the health and wellbeing of First Nations people in BC. The announcement coincides with HPV Prevention Week, which takes place annually from Oct. 1-7.

You can see all the winning entries, consisting of visual art, short stories and poems, at fnha.ca/hpv. Participants shared cultural values and personal experiences, many of them inspired by teachings from Elders, family stories and community traditions.

These powerful works reflect the artists' perspectives on health, wellness and cancer prevention, while highlighting the importance of community voices in public health conversations.

HPV Cancer Care Art Contest: For you, your future, your community

Launched earlier this year in April, the contest invited First Nations artists living in BC to explore the theme: For you, your future, your community. Stand together against cancers caused by HPV."

FNHA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, families and communities who contributed to both the art contest and the HPV prevention initiative. Your support is helping to increase knowledge about cancer prevention and preserve a healthier future.
